CREATIVE TEACHING MODEL

The Creative Teaching Model is an innovative solution conceptualised by the Academy for Creative Teaching.

It is a comprehensive model which is applicable to any level of education from kindergarten to professional learning, by exploring different facets of knowledge and providing active teaching-learning strategies which makes learning a joyful experience.

  • The teachers at MTPS are trained and guided by the ACT to use the Creative Teaching Model in their classes, and adopt various methods to make the learning process effective and enjoyable.
  • Our teachers attend various workshops conducted by ACT on Revised Assessment Pattern, Experiential Learning, Competency Building, Leadership development etc. to constantly improve their academic skills.
  • Group discussions, situation analysis, visits to places of scientific and historical importance, field trips and excursions, interaction with visiting dignitaries, along with events that create a healthy competition and discussion such as debates and quiz are all utilised as aids to the learning experience.
01. Physical

This aspect deals with the five senses, and primarily addresses a hands-on learning experience. As the popular saying by Confucius goes – I hear and I forget, I see and I remember; I do and I understand.
Mere memorizing does not amount to education, and hence we focus on experiential learning for the development of skills, and use various aids in the classroom as per the learning styles of the students.

02. Emotional

Education is incomplete without emotion – we strongly believe that only one half of education is knowledge-attainment, and the second equally important domain is that of emotion – empathy, motivation, enthusiasm, positivity and people-centric leadership qualities go a long way in putting that knowledge into good use. Managing of one’s emotions, helping learners develop rational thought processes and being appreciative and respectful of people around them – these are taught in the classroom through inspirational stories, skits, sketches, surveys and case studies.

03. Intellectual

This domain focusses on higher order conceptual thinking, analytical ability, logical and critical thinking – it helps learners make application-based connections and apply knowledge to new contexts. This is achieved through quiz, presentations and the use of technology, such as online games, animations and videos.

04. Spiritual

The fourth facet of the Creative Teaching Model is to bring about a sense of being grounded, and being close to your roots, by maintaining tried and tested cultural links that enhance our decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
This channelizes within us the optimum mind-set to live in harmony with those around us. Developing spiritual balance goes a long way in dealing with diversity and external factors that influence our well-being, and we make sure this often-forgotten aspect of learning does not go unaddressed.

Curriculum & ASSESSMENT

MTPS follows the CBSE syllabus for assessment. However, we strongly believe in following a curriculum that’s much wider in the sense of the term.

Our curriculum focuses on the holistic development of the learner in academic and   co-curricular areas, thus smoothly transitioning to the outside world after their school days, and continuing  to excel and find happiness in all that the child does in life.

LANGUAGES

English is studied as first language, and hence is the medium of instruction. Kannada /Hindi/Sanskrit is studied as second language.

Hindi is studied as third language by those who opt for Kannada/Sanskrit as second language.
